Celebrating our Followers with a Giveaway!

Afiya products

We recently reached 100 Google Friend Connect Followers!  While we're not at all obsessed with the numbers in and of themselves, we're excited for PLPT to reach another milestone.  We're excited that we have connected with people who share our passion for peace, happiness and self-fulfillment. For all of you who follow this blog, whether it's by email, rss, facebook or twitter - we thank you so much for reading and sharing with us.

To celebrate, we're giving away some goodies that we hope you all will enjoy.  Check out the deets:

1.  Afiya, LLC is a small business we featured here that specializes in natural, handmade Shea Butter products. Their handmade Body Butters, Hair Butters, Body Sprays, and Soaps are all carefully formulated with the best ingredients available, to cleanse, nourish, moisturize and pamper your skin.  The lovely ladies of Afiya have graciously agreed to sponsor this giveaway.  The winner will receive a 4 oz hair oil and a 4 oz body spray

2.  How does a 24-year-old police officer transform herself into America’s first African American female combat pilot in just three years? As Vernice “FlyGirl” Armour describes it in ZERO TO BREAKTHROUGH, she did it by identifying her passion and harnessing the power of Breakthrough MentalityTM and then taking action—a combination of planning, discipline, and persistence. In ZERO TO BREAKTHROUGH: The 7-Step, Battle-Tested Method for Accomplishing Objectives that Matter (Gotham; April 28, 2011), Armour has transformed her training and experience in both everyday and life-or-death situations into a inspiring, practical, no-nonsense guide to pinpointing one’s “umph” or passion, creating a plan to pursue it, and then making it happen.  The winner will receive a copy of Vernice Armour's inspirational book.

3.  Finally, we have a $25 gift card from Target.  I can't imagine what anyone could possibly need from there, but Kim thought someone could find a use for it.  ;-)

Here's how to enter:

1.  Leave a comment stating when you feel at your best. What hobbies, activities or guilty pleasures make you feel like your best self?

2.  You can get an additional entry by (1) Following us on twitter or (2) liking us on facebook.  You must leave a comment letting us know that you're following us.

The giveaway will close on June 30 at midnight!

I feel at my best when I'm mentoring high school students in a college prep program I participate in. Having the opportunity to share my mistakes, answer their questions and address their fears, makes me feel like I'm making a difference and being the "best me" that I can be.

I feel my best when I'm helping others and giving from the heart. I realized a little while ago that my gifts are most apparent while I have a sense of make a difference, no matter how small.

*I follow you all both on Twitter & FB :-)*

Lately, many things have been contributing to this "best self" feeling, but most recently its been unexpectedly catching a loving stare from Him ;-) (just made me feel awesome); drawing has been a big and unbelievably pleasant surprise for me (i just smile and feel all these good things happening inside me while I'm drawing); and bike riding with lil' one (it takes me back to my childhood and I just feel so peaceful that I'm making moments with her).

I follow you via Feed, Twitter & Facebook. Love ya both :)

I feel I am at my best when I am giving a friend in need advice, when I'm helping my step-kiddies with something they question, when my mother tells me "you made me smile today"!! I always feel at my best when I am assisting someone else, it feels good to give.s It makes me warm and want to smile when I know I've done something to make someone's day just a little bit brighter!! Love your blog!!

I feel best when I am cooking. All worries come out through my hands as I concentrate on perfecting the food to get the best taste. When I cannot get to the kitchen, I feel best when I am involved in other orgs, either helping as a volunteer, or fulfilling my Board of Director requirements!

I feel my best when I am trying something new with my love. He is very adventurous and I am NOT!! He pushes me to try new things and once I overcome that fear, I feel great. Like I can conquer anything!

I feel my best when I am being authentic--which means expressing my truth -- whether it is writing, creating art or loving. I feel my best when I'm making digital art. I feel my best when I'm writing stories, articles, sharing my wisdom. And I feel best when I'm loving, being loved and sharing love.

S. Cooper Wrote.....I feel at my best now that I know that I'm walking in God's plan for my life. For years I've felt lost and disconnected. Now with a 5-year old daughter, I feel empowered to become the strong, independent woman that was always hidden within! My strong suit is to help others better themselves through career development!

I feel at my best when I do not worry about others opinion of me. I am working me that is what my blog is all about a beautTful discovery of this unique person that God made in his image. I am grateful for who I am; however I am learning to be in love me. When I dont care what others think of me I am at my best. I am limiting the hold that others have on me and allowing me to look inside and be who I really am. In short I am at my best when I AM BEING REAL WITH ME.

I feel best when I'm snuggled up on the couch with a book and a blanket. I also feel absolutely beautiful polishing my nails. It makes me smile.

I feel my best when I wake up in the morning pray, and listen to Dr. Stanley, an evangelist, and then drive to school listening to gospel or positive music. I find that when I start my day off this way, I am reminded of my many blessings, and tend to get less frazzled throughout the day. Also it keeps me positive. Its hard to do some days, maybe a lot of days..lol, especially when I wake up late, but I still try.

I feel my best when I just have peace within myself, not worried about what others are doing or saying and also not worried about the happenings that are going on in my life.
